Wands are a guilty weakness of mine. If you've never eaten one before, I can guarantee that after one bite they will be yours too!

Those irresistible seven-layered wands never last long in our house. I'm telling you right now, you won't be able to stop at one of these bad boys.
The five.
believe me. I walked that line folks!

What are 7-ply bars?
Seven Layer Bars are simple and sweet dessert bars made with seven ingredients. Preparing these bars is super easy; prepare the base, place the base on the bottom of the pan, place the remaining ingredients on top and place in the oven.
What are the 7 layers in the 7 layer bars?
- Graham-Brotkrumen
- Butter
- chocolate drops
- Karamell-Chips
- sweetened coconut flakes
- chopped walnuts (or nuts of your choice)
- condensed milk

How to Make Seven Layer Wands - Step by Step
Step 1: Prepare a panela
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9×13-inch baking pan with cooking spray or line with parchment paper and set aside.
Step 2: Make the crust
Melt the butter in a small saucepan. Remove from the heat and stir in the cookie crumbs until well combined. Press into the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish to form a crust.

Step 3: Add the layers
Scatter the remaining ingredients evenly over the crust, one at a time, to form layers, starting with the chocolate chips, followed by the caramel chips, coconut, and walnuts. Pour the condensed milk evenly on top and spread with a rubber spatula to ensure even distribution.
Step 4: Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until the edges are golden brown and the center is set. Allow to cool completely before slicing.

Tips and hints for making the best 7-layer bars
- To make your own cookie crumbs,Use about 11-12 full rectangular graham cracker sheets for 1 1/2 cups of crumbs.
- Line your baking sheet with parchment paper. This makes removing the seven-layered wands much easier and also improves cleaning. If you are orienting so that the paper hangs over the sides of the tray, use the tabs to lift the tray rods and place them on a cutting board.
- If you're covering the baking sheet with parchment paper, crumple it into a ball first!Yes, it sounds a bit silly, but if you crumple up the parchment paper first before placing it on the bottom of the pan, it will help it "stay in place" and stick to the sides of the pan better.
- Allow your seven-layer bars to cool COMPLETELY before slicing. While I have to admit that I sometimes steal a hot morsel of magic bars right out of the pan, it's best to wait until they're completely cool to slice them. Otherwise it can get a bit messy.
- Chill your cold bars for a smoother cut. When the bars have cooled down, you can also put them in the fridge for a few hours so that they firm up a bit.

Changes and changes in income
The basic recipe for these seven-layered magic bars is tried and true and doesn't need to be changed, but if you want to change things up, here are a few ideas:
- Use vanilla wafers, cinnamon cookies, or shortbread cookies instead of regular cookie crumbs
- Replace the chocolate or caramel chips with white chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, or caramel chips.
- Add dried fruits like raisins or craisins
- Swap out the chopped walnuts for your favorite walnuts. Chopped walnuts are my other go-to. If you have a nut allergy, you can omit them entirely.
- Add some chopped pretzels for a sweet and salty twist.
- If coconut isn't your thing, you can definitely skip it!

Storage and freezing of seven-level wands
You can store your seven-layer magic bars in an airtight container on the counter for up to five days. You can also store them in the fridge.
The 7-layer bars also freeze perfectly! Place sliced bars in a freezer safe container or large ziplock bag for up to 6 months. Allow the bars to thaw on the counter or in the refrigerator before enjoying.

5 minutes in the making and 10 minutes gobbled up after the party arrived, these are the winners! Only problem is they are so easy now I make them all the time 😅🤤 Thanks!!

Thank you very much. I had forgotten how easy 7 layer bars are to make and how delicious they are. Do you use salted or unsalted butter for this?

This has been in my mom's annual cookie plates for 50 years! It's perfect. These are also great with roasted and salted nuts. Mom, as usual, uses nuts in hers. But there's something to the roasting and saltiness, and there's a maple flavor to the nuts. I like that there are different recipe variations.
